Hi guys, my name is Jim, I am in process of restoring my 1966 Chevelle. Currently the body is off the frame and am working on it in my spare time. The frame has been cleaned to bare metal and a coat of POR 15 and primer. I have a Helwig frame boxing kit to give it the added strength I want and from there I will be doing the suspension. Tubular A arms, front brake conversion to include new spindles and as money flows, a rear brake conversion and coil over kit.
Have a 565 hp sbc 427, three speed th350 Auto/shift kit. A Gear Vendors overdrive system and have just found an A body 12 bolt rear end to complete the drive system.
The body is in excellent shape but there are pin holes in the floors, I have new pans to replace them. Other than that it has a small amount of rust behind the lower left rear quarter. Again I have the necessary metal for repairs.
My current project is to build my own rotisserie to do the job right. I have a one ton 14' wide Gantry Crane that is height adjustable and firewall to rear bumper is 12 '. I also have a cherry picker type engine hoist and an engine stand.
I have ideas floating around in my brain, but would also like to hear a few of your ideas. It's been said a great leader surrounds himself with great minds. While my leadership days are over (proir military) I would like to see what great minds are here. (Note that I said I have ideas in my head, but the word great was never mentioned).
I look forward to hearing your ideas to make a good rotisserie to help me complete this project.
Did I also mention I am taking delivery of a 1938 International one ton pick up and also a Marmon-Herrington 4x4 conversion system in about 10 to 15 days?
Oh and by the way I am new to this restoration stuff.
