The tool is designed for scraping paint, like on the side of a house, etc. It is supposed to be a multi-tool.The hex is for a screw driver bit. It comes with a double ended straight/phillips. It can also be used as a narrow scraper.

Just a gimmick in my opinion. I was a sucker, and got one. The bit was always falling out. If you use the butt to set a protruding nail, you mess up the flip out thing.

The bit it comes with is very short, flat on one end, phillips on the other. I lost mine in the grass the first day, within the first 1/2 hour.

I have one in my toolbox at work, works fine if you need to remove a screw without climbing down and back up the ladder for a screwdriver when you're scraping paint. Like all multi-tools, it's a compromise. Better than nothing, not as good as a single-purpose tool. I didn't buy it, just found it in a bunch of tools left by a previous tech. It does come in handy.
