thats awesome too. Ive been doing a lot of carving lately, sofar the big pile of wood chips look pretty nice!!! I decided to do the trim in my barn with ceder..so Im using ceder fence pickets.6"x6' each at less than half the price of the same wood same size without the dog ear cuts....only issue is 1 buying enough, 2 finding out when homers depot will get another pallet in and get more then...as a pallet last about 2- 3 days then it's a month or more before they get another....you cant fix stupid, when you have a hot seller like that you get more than 1 pallet.and you keep it stocked and sell the crap out of it. some are rougher than others you can plane them or shave them or both depending on what you want. they dont look so good sanded..
Not sure if you're aware, but there's a nationwide lumber shortage right now. Supply side is waning and pushing prices up. I went to my local Lowes and the entire lumber section was a ghost town. No sheet goods, treated, SYP, OSB, 2Xs, almost nothing. I was told 6 - 8 weeks before they would have anything for sale to the GP, that all incoming was already spoken for by contractors.
thats a scam. they are creating the shortage to up the price 4x what it was at the beginning of the year. somuch forest was desimated in the past few huricanes hear in northwest florida the price of osb should be $3.00 a sheet. not $30. I paid less than $7 in jan or feb. most all big lumber yards are automated, no close contact with employes, and not a lot of employes, same for the ones cutting&hauling. I was freinds with the president of LP& GP years ago,it's a tight run ship. I think all this is on the demand end.. as in demanding more$$ for more sports cars and houses&bank accounts in the bahama's. either way wer are all getting screwed. the big stores have figured a good way to screw us all and say...it wasent me!! I didnt do it!!! NOT ME!!!
