    Howdy

Howdy-img_0661.jpgHowdy-0722070951.jpgMy name is Jeff, I'm 60 years old.
I have a small machine shop and wood shop.
Mostly just mess around with the wood shop.
The past 12 years or so I have been restoring vintage racing go karts and 2 cycle motors for them.
I'm looking to move on to something a little different.
I'm thinking of building a 7.5" gauge caboose from scratch.
Searching now for drawings, suppliers and other related things.
    Nice to meet you all....
    Jeff

Hi Jeff - welcome to HomemadeTools.net

Very interesting, I think you're the first vintage racing go kart restorer on the forum. If you've got some pics of those, I'm sure people will be interested to see them.

    Hi Jeff,

Welcome - glad to have you here!

I know a few guys who are into the vintage racing scene, but nobody doing karts. Sounds neat; let's see some pics!

    OK,
I've added two pics of karts I have restored.
Both of these have been run at Summit Point. A two mile road race track.
    These are early 70s karts.

Very nice! Have you kept them to run yourself, or sold them on?

The two pictured I've run, still have them.
    Actually, I have several others.
Once they are done, I can't bring myself to sell them. LOL...

Oh, I get it. I've sold completed projects in the past and still miss each one. I have no plans at all to sell my current one, though.

Very interesting hobby, Jeff. I taken karts a few times around the track, and crewed for one of my racer buddies. You gave me an idea for a new hobby!
