    How NOT To String Phone/Cable

Thought you might find this amusing: Man on Wire, telephone wire. Really. This is how phone / cable lines are strung in big cities in parts of Asia. I've cut the audio volume in half, it's actual MUCH louder than this!

He's about 1.5 floors above the street on phone wiring. The wires above are mains.

And you thought birds on the wires above you were bad!

Don't even think about trying this.

Kind of looks like some fellow ham radio operators stringing up a new wire antenna.....

    So that's why I don't have cable.
    My phone line is underground
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

This is similar to what happens in South Africa, but here instead of stringing cables 'they' remove them and sell the copper, leaving the public without power and phones.

I see the worker believes in safety - he is wearing a handkerchief over his face to eliminate toxic fumes and gloves for hand protection; what more can you ask?

That handkerchief is to protect him from all those stray electrons that are leaking out of those cables. Beta radiation! But almost anything will stop it, even a thin layer of cloth. The gloves are to make him more clumsy. He is hoping for a disability pension. Joke is, he is not able in the first place so he need not bother.
