It looks pretty good but I'd be less skeptical if he were to show some pictures of it running and actually doing a little work.
With two trannies in series he ought to have a Low/low that you could start it in, go get a sandwich and then come back to see how much it had moved.
If you can't make it precise make it adjustable.
That is a very nice build sir! I love seeing old auto and tractor parts recycled. I will bet you that little tractor will outlast many of the new ones that are for sale today.
