    Great post and build for cheap and cheerful costs. 6500k temp is a good starting point but have found through experience that around 5500-6000k is a more natural daylight white. What was the filter material you used? Looked like frosted acetate. Please Let us know how they hold up to the heat. Minor Tip: if you put them up higher, pointing them more straight down you will reduce the double shadows.

    The filter material is from thermal laminating sheets, there should be no/insignificant heat from the LED Lights.
    If there was a lot of heat, then the filter material would go clear.
