They should have started with lower power settings first. Get a feel for the controls or modify them.
It is a BAD decision to go that much power and not to have the controls figured out first or at least a LOT more experience before using that much power.

Sort of reminded me of the scene from the movie "The Rocketeer" when he tried the rocket suit out for the first time. It was helter skelter all of the place, hilarious!
