Homemade Chain

Chain is probably one of the most under-rated and overlooked tools out there but it sure does come in handy more often than not! Here, I demonstrate how to forge chain. Now, in the video, I only make 3 links, and they are 5/16" round stock, but you can use the same process to make your chain as long and links as big as what you need. Since my links are fairly small, I was able to get each link done with 3 welding heats, but on larger stock, say half inch or more, it's a good idea to do at least 5 welding heats for structural integrity and load-bearing capacity.
