Homemade Box Pan Folder (30 years ago)

As I built this30 years ago from odd bits there are no drawings but I can take some photos and place a rule against it for scale if you want.

I admire your work, the pan folder looks so well made. Is it possible to have a drawing or sketch preferably not CAD. I dont have a CAD software.

Not sure if your message is a compliment or if you are questioning my honesty but I will take it as a compliment thank you ��. I have recently finished a bead roller to compliment the folder and rollers as I need to put a few joggle’s in some plates for my 3” scale Foden Steam Wagon which I am currently building. I do not think that you need to justify yourself for good quality work, one just needs to spend a few minutes to look at what your profession is on your bio and the quality of all the other project that you have posted. The fact that one is building a machine for one's own workshop does not mean that the same care and attention should not be put into the final product.

Thank you for the kind words.
I really enjoy sharing my projects with like minded people especially on this forum. Home engineering as a hobby can be quite insular as none of my close family share my passion for engineering. I am a member of the Newbury Society of Practical Engineers in the UK which is only a small group with about 20 members. My role in the society is to share and teach the group subjects that they are either interested in learning more about or struggling with. This can be anything from sheet metal, marking out castings, silver soldering, screw cutting to basic machine setups. I look forward to the meetings which are held approximately 6 times a year as it gives everyone a chance to share there projects that they are currently working on or have finished. I find it amazing that these guys are all self taught and produce some fantastic models and tools to aid there interest in engineering. I would say some are more skilled than some of the so called time served professional craftsman I have come across in my career. This is due to it being an interest to them rather than just a job.

Just love that sentiment 'looks commercial'. It's a compliment alright, mostly observing the fit-up. That brake looks just right; not embellished, pure functionality, eased edges and good ergonomics.
Meanwhile, commercial doesn't look so hot anymore.

Of course I made my comment as a compliment. Sorry, I'm a bit late with this clarification, but I missed out on your reply a couple of years ago. Your work shows more than a functional tool... it's a work of art.
