Nice project, the safety ideas are great but I might add one more, make a cover for that motor cooling fan, oooh that would really wind up your Tighty Whities if you hit your leg on that thing, not to mention a hand!

It's definitely what I will do, first I will change the motor for a 3phase one, and I will have to change the pulley then to keep the good ratio, but yes, it is not safe as it is 😊
