Thanks. I will do a video about making adjustable stops for the press and other upgrades. I will definitely post it here. I also build myself a homemade powerhammer, its a first video on my channel. But the video is really bad, and the hammer itself is a butchery Im not really proud of. (like welding directly to ball bearings and stuff )

Interesting build with all the pieces there and like the turnbuckles idea. Unique with the tire and rim crank/flywheel. Are you friction driving the wheel with the motor? Thanks for sharing!

Agree and that was the reason for my question. I thought parts availability or other factors in your area might enter into your decision and was curious. With your skill I would think you could weld up you own cylinder. Some heavy walled tubing, 148mm (5.826") diameter would give you 40 tons at 200bar (3,000 psi). With the slow speed I doubt it would have to be precision honed tubing. It would have to be clean and smooth but a good piston fit and some good seals should work fine. Wall thickness is critical as well as good weld prep and penetration. But these things are not all that difficult to figure out and might be fun to research.

Yes, its friction driven. I just press the pedal, and it lifts the motor up. Kinda redneck clutch

Thanks, but making my own cylinder is way out of my skills. I don't have a lathe and i don't have any machining skills. I just weld stuff together But I was actually thinking about getting a longer cylinder with roughly 140mm diameter. They are available, but usually too long, like 1,5m. And then getting it shortened, or maybe shorten it by myself. It is just cutting and welding. So maybe this can be a option for someone. ..... Getting the cylinder custom built cost about the same as my whole press.

Click "Settings" in upper-right corner, then "Edit Signature" in lower-left corner, and you can experiment with different signatures. I recommend adding a compelling photo that's linked to your YT channel.

On this forum we use a very wide variety of methods that ensure a constant stream of traffic to your builds: tool card receipts, our Best Homemade Tools subforum, your builder page, our daily newsletter, ebooks, promotions on our homepage, etc.
