    I have not done much wood turning, but always wondered how that was done. Makes perfect sense. Also appropriate use of video for clarity.

    What you really need for hollowing out bits of wood like that is a colony of trained termites. I was once doing some reconstruction on a house that had an infestation of the little buggers. the 2x6 floor joists looked pristine on the outside but were more like rectangular tubing when cut open
