Surprising they respect property rights that strongly in a communist country. I suspect such property would have been expropriated for the public good in democratic countries.

The property is owned by the villages, and the villagers. And any use of that land is via a lease. So once that lease is up, the property can revert back to the village.

The only thing Communist in China is the name of the government. Tons of religious festivals, crazy capitalist business ventures from family garage run businesses up to monster companies. A lot to admire, and some not to admire like everywhere else. I learned a lot over working there off an on the past 12 years except during COVID. It's nothing like the American Govenment/media leads us to believe. That's the one thing I learned quickly every country puts a spin on different things. And every country has some form of propaganda.

Thanks Mark. Agree China has created a superpower from where they were 50 years ago and lifted most of the population out of poverty. With some authoritarianism along the way granted, but too much liberalism would not have achieved it. In fact too much liberalism in the west is causing the start of it's decay.
