Toss all that vanity crap loose the side cover widen out the bed to a real service bed then you might have something useful there is a good 6 inches of wasted depth in the side skin alone. if you need to hide the fact that it is a working vehicle because you live in a city then I can see the point of it
Never try to tell me it can't be done

-For the love of... Guess he simply forgot an inner mudguard while busy "taking it to another level"?
I'm just waiting to see what gravel, mud, rain, snow and salt will do to that cabinet maker's pride.
Didn't show how much of the bed width is hijacked by the assumed drawers - or are they mere flat-packs?
What he did was to use a standard Knapheide or Koeing truck service body narrowed it a little then pealed the sides off of the pickup bed, mounted them to the link bars. And yes without any inned fender well or mud guards the first rain the truck is driven in is going to cause him a lot of grief in cleaning.
the tool box doors would have rubber seal so for the most part his tools should be protected enough without the mud guards that truck could gain a 1000 lbs if driven on some of the roads out here where I live when it rains

Gimmicks yes! But usefull storage. In many vehicles there is no/little storage room.
I built a bullbar from 5" by 3" high tensile RHS for my ute back in 70's. the ends of bar were truncated for aesthitics and ends were capped with flat. On passenger side end I tapped top & bottom bung holes for sump plugs then filled and carried a sump full of new oil in the bar (the inside was lead rustproofed before capping) for emergencies mostly. No mobile cells then. Also under the bonnet/hood I had a wire cage(I made from in & out mail administration trays) for carrying spare engine /radiator hoses, filter, fan belts etc. Behind the seat I built a formply toolbox to hold standard sized sockets/ open enders & ring spanners, jumpper leeds, large V8 air filter, spark plugs , points, leeds, timing light, jug etc.
