Hidden gas cap holder - GIF

This is like how it took me decades to realize that there's an arrow under your fuel gauge that points to the side of the vehicle that your fuel door is on.

Eh, that's OK. I just went my entire life, until about 5 minutes ago, without knowing that lawnmower deck height gauges exist.

...that is way too much 'technology' to test cutting depth...surely we all know what setting, 1-10, for our routine mowing...or test cut a patch...not to worry, you did not need it anyway! Cheers, and btw, my 2011 Nissan Pathfinder has the same sort of cap holder moulded into the inside(metal) panel of fuel filler door...cheers

A lawn mower deck height gage for WHAT? Just drop it down to scalp setting and you only have to mow 3 times a year. if the crap grows back wait until late Agust and set it on fire to burn off any weed and grass but seeds, next year the lawn will look a whole lot better.
Never try to tell me it can't be done

Deck height gauge. . .deck height gouge. All inquiring minds need is a neck or a waist and tape measure. Logo emblazoned gloves not required either.
I use the pre-engineered axle indexes. Take a swath, yup that's about right and lower it one more.
Scalping and burning isn't approved within city limits, dang it neither is leaf incineration.

So I sit at fires edge with package of brats, one on stick. . .Bigger pile, more packages.
    No Sir! Not burning officer!
    Cooking!

Up in the building, too far away at the moment, I have a 24" spun steel camp fry pan. 30" handle bolts on after transport.
When there are heavy branches and stumps to burn.

Gas cap holder? Believe Toyota 91 4WD had a notched holder. 95 Buick's holder threaded, works one handed.
My Sportster too, while other works the nozzle. . .

Haven't paid attention to mis-located fuel doors, mine been on the left where they belong.
Either Ralph Nader or OSHA probably ordained right siders. To keep goof balls out of the street, running out of gas and refilling from can.

I'm still kinda gobsmacked that it took so many years for car makers to make gas caps with a leash! Yes, it's standard equipment now, and they have been around on a very few models long ago, but it didn't seem to really take off as a thing until ummm, late 80s, into the 90s?

    Maybe I'm misremembering things.
