Hi I just joined, I like the idea of building stuff from scratch!

This forum looks to be very interesting, I have a small wood / metal shop at home, I'm retired and I love to build scale r/c model ships. I sold my Hot Rod this last fall because of physical reasons and I'm now into smaller easier things to work on!

Jon, Well, right now I'm rebuilding my shop inside to make it more hobby usable in my modeling and wood and metal work. For a long time I had my custom VW in the garage along with associated parts in the middle of my build, my bad back got worse and I never really got any better, so the car just sat there for around five years. I just sold it a couple months ago and now looking at finishing my shop and getting my other tools out of my storage center. I'm thinking about a small sheet metal brake might be my first tool build. I worked for a while in the tin shop at the pulp mill where I live and really liked the box/pan brake with it's different jaws for fabing. I'm thinking about that one though, as the different jaws might be a real problem to make.
