    Hi everyone!

My name is Dave and I build hot rods. I have been restoring cars for the last 25-30 years (all my own) and enjoy designing and building things. I weld and sheetmetal fabricate body parts for my cars and make different jigs and sheetmetal tools for my use. I really like the things that everyone posts on here and look forward to learning how to make some more equipment.

    Hi Dave,

Welcome - glad to have you here!

Sounds as though you've got a vast amount of experience to share. We've got lots of car guys and builders here (I'm guilty of that one, myself), so please do jump in anywhere at all.

What are you restoring at the moment? Photos please…

    Ken

    Hey Ken!
I am currently restoring/rebuilding a 67 Nova. Was butchered pretty bad by previous builder? hatchet man? This has been the ultimate hair pulling, head banging on wall, (sometimes insanely cursing out loud) project I have ever undertaken. I had to replace firewall, floor pans, rocker panels, cowl panels, frame, etc. on this. I custom built a complete square tube frame with coil over ladder bar narrowed Ford 9 inch rear suspension and CPP tubular a-arm suspension up front. There have been many times over the 9 years I have been working on this that I have asked myself "What the hell was I thinking!" But I've stuck it out and maybe within the next few years I may have her done. I just built a 383 SBC with a built 350 turbo for this, so I'm heading in the right direction (I hope)

Looking good! It's definitely going in the right direction.

A good friend of mine spent 18 years working on an airplane (I used to kid him about having to send it to college) and then died without ever getting to fly it. Every time a project drags on long enough to get me down, my wife reassures me that at least I won't be sending it to college!

Your Nova is barely in grade school, so no worries!

Let's see some pics of the engine build, too…

Nice! I call restoration jobs like that Ship of Theseus builds.

Be sure to check the Chevy Nova category on our ChevyBuilds.net site for a list of similar builds.
