    Hi From Australia

    Hi

Just found this forum and it looks like great resource which I think will be of immense help to me.

I am a retired hobbyist and have only recently acquired a lathe. Got a lot to learn about turning but have successfully made a couple of tooling items for it.

I also have a CNC router which I built a few years ago but I want something better and so I am in the process of building a higher spec machine.

    I'm also into woodworking.

Always looking for ideas, techniques and advice so I'm looking forward to spending time here.

    Cheers
    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,

    Welcome!

Sounds like a great set of skills and hobbies. Let's see some pics of your CNC build in progress; lots of guys would be interested in following along…

What's the first thing you're planning to make with the new CNC machine once it's completed?

    Hi

    Thanks for the welcomes.

I don't really have a list of projects to do, apart from completing my new CNC machine. That's one of the reasons I found this site as I was searching the web for inspiration on projects.

My workshop is in disarray at the moment as I work in one bay in a two bay garage. This means that I have to continuously move gear from one area to another to gain access to the machine I need to access at the time. When finished I have to put it all back to put the car away. I will take some photos of my old CNC machine and some of the new machine as it stands so far. I'll post something in the next couple of days.

    Cheers
    Geoff
