    TwigsNJigs's Tools

Hey everyone, just some knives and tools that I've made so far~

Hello everyone, I'm new to the whole knife and tool making scene, only about a month in now and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I received a comment on one of my Youtube video's inviting me to join the site, so here I am, figured it would be a good way to share some of the stuff I've made thus far with people with similar interests, maybe give you guys some idea's and learn a few things from the people here.

Here is one of the video's showing what I've made so far (not including some of the drifts and whatnot for forging, ill have to do another video on that):

And here is a video showing how to forge a machete from case hardened file, from start to finish:

If you guys or girls have any tips or tricks you'd like to share, or idea's on how I can improve my video's, constructive criticism is always welcome .

Looking forward to chatting with you folks and thanks for the invite!

Thanks TwigsNJigs, Darned good for only being into forging for a month! Your hammering metal movement style looks good to me although you got close to the edge a few time, causing a bit of rework. All in all, nice work in a month! Considering your fire source and heat treat process you pulled that bow out really well with patience instead of brute force. Well Done...look forward to more. All of us learning here and sharing what we know...an praising when we don't.

    Keep em' coming!

Great video showing what you can do without a million dollars worth of equipment. Perhaps the only criticism I would have about your video is that it was really really long. Not that I did not enjoy it, but I think that is could have been cut down quite a bit. Thanks for posting this, and I look forward to seeing your next set.

Hey thanks guys, I definitely noted what you said. I have to get a good deep metal bucket for heat treating for sure, that caused a lot of extra work on the machete. As far the video length, absolutely, it was way longer than I wanted it to be, even sped up 500% haha..just tried to cover virtually every step in the video. I have some plans for a few smaller knives coming up with the torch so they should be shorter, and I don't think I'll be covering any forging details in the video's to come as I included a lot about my personal setup and what I use, etc. in these specific video's.

Thanks for the input and the kind words!
