    Help needed. Unknown vintage tool

    Hi there,
A good friend of mine just found this tool in a lot of engineer's tools he bought at auction. He asked me if I had ever seen something like this and I confess I came up blank hence asking you guys for help.
It is clearly a die wrench with a very simple ratchet but it appears to be very old and it seems to made of bronze maybe?
I cannot find any reference to the maker Pass & Co, or at least not a tool maker.
Any help, ideas of where to look etc would be hugely appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

I'd say, by pic 1 is a threading die. The ratcheting feature allows work in close corners. If your assumption of bronze-like material is correct, that is used for spark proof tools such as AMPCO Co. DIYSwede's clipping backs up that with their interest toward non-ferrous metals.
So along with Johan's 2 cents...

Any markings on the die (thread cutting) part?
