    Hello from California

Stumbled across this site while researching a top side creeper for my silverado 6.0.
Im the kinda guy ,that when shopping for a house, I look at the garage FIRST.
I love to wrench on all things automotive. I can see now that I am going to have to develop some welding
skills. Im looking for recommendations for a good all round wire feed unit. Ill mainly use it for sticking metal less than 1/4 inch.
Thanks, looking forward to lots of reading. Anyone from North Carolina, shoot me a message. Im looking for real estate there.

    Hi djgilchrist,

    Welcome!

Oh, I hear you on the garage thing. I've bought two houses with exactly that foremost in mind. The first one was carefully measured to accommodate an airplane project with its wings mounted and the second to fit a kit car project. My wife is a saint - just ask her!

What are you doing with the Silverado at the moment?

Regarding my Silverado 6.0 2WD. I just bought it for a song with 190,000 on it. Runs strong still and trying to maximize the time until a rebuild is nesc. Probably want to add some mechanical temp and oil pressure gauges to the LS engine.
I came up with an idea to add 2 / 20mm ammo cans under the rear seats as secure and lockable storage. I will certainly post photos when I am finished.
Im also tossing around an idea for a DIY tonneau cover.
Anyone ever changed an LS oil pump before? All tips appreciated.
    thanks for the welcome.

I'm working on my LS engine, too. I'm just about ready to mount the water temp & oil pressure senders before it gets installed in the car later this week. I'm going to take my oil temp from one of the dry sump connections.

I like your idea of using ammo cans for storage. Those things are super versatile!

I'll look forward to your photos…

    Ken
