Hi Ray - welcome to HomemadeTools.net
Hobby type, love making stuff and recycling old stuff - yup, you'll fit in well here.
What ideas do you have for what you want to build next?

Interesting; when I moved into my new house, the first project was to fix up and seal the old shed, so that non-garage junk could be moved out of the garage. Rebuilt the door, painted it inside and out (sprayed Kilz oil-based on the inside), caulked the interior edges, and added a small stone walkway so that items being transferred out of the shed wouldn't be placed on the dirt.
My only regret was not more thoroughly documenting the contents of the various shed containers. I should've marked each storage container with a large number, then maintained a simple computer text file that listed the contents of each marked container. Then when we wondered: "is it in the shed?", I could've just checked the text file, and determined the exact container that housed the item in question.

Hi Ray,
Welcome!
I only wish I could have a separate storage shed, but my community rules unfortunately prohibit outbuildings of any sort. I've got my wife conditioned to keep her hobby materials in her sewing room, while the garage is for car/bike/plane "stuff" depending on the current project. I mostly know where things are stored, but having a detailed file with that info would come in handy on a semi-regular basis.
Let's see some pics of your shed project…

OK i can take some from this point on, we got the deck and the gambrel truss made yesterday i know one son took some pics i will see what he has and get some of our 8x8 shed project posted. we built rear and two side walls at 8 ft then realized we would be over the allowed height. So have to go back and cut walls 24 in. to 6 ft. but with Gambrel style it will still have over 8 ft head room more, like close to 10 ft.
My question is; should I post in a New Thread or just post in this thread?
For the shed project, go ahead and post a new thread in the Not a Tool, but Homemade subforum.
We'll look forward to seeing those pics!
Ken
