    Hi hardboot,

    Welcome!

Granite fabrication? What'll that entail exactly? We'd love to see some pics of your work.

I'm sorry to be late answering .... didn't mean to be rude and ignore posts but
when I went to reply Facebook log on came up ..... hmmmm .... I don't do facebook

I sent Jon a question this morning asking if there were some other method or responding

wonder if shows signs of senility to not look down at the bottom of the page for the Quick Reply link ..... LOL

I've been a hands on type of guy all of my life (long time @ 74yrs) so this site really gets me interested....

as to the type of tools, Jon ... heck ... anything and everything.

I owned/operated a vending business for nearly fifty years and never found a machine I couldn't fix ... now, I got into repair on some that proved to be totally economically unsound for the to fix but then, I was never too smart.... LOL

as to the granite fabrication work, Ken,
I buy big pieces of granite called slabs .... appx 72" x 120" ... cut them up smaller pieces (think countertops) ... polish the exposed edges and install them in homes.... mostly for friends but I've gotten a number of requests since doing our kitchen/baths (3 slabs) and my daughter's kitchen/bath (2 slabs ) in the past few months that I've decided to branch out a bit more.

I constructed nearly all of my tables, dollies, racks, Aframe, gantry, hoists and bought and modified 2 auto engine hoists.... operate in the NoFear mode... safety first but homemade cheapasIcan type of stuff.

going in just a few minutes to make the templates for a friend's new home which requires three(3) slabs

don't know when I'll be able to post pics as have a big Sat planned at our local Catholic church and I'm in charge of the video recording at Masses on Sun.... with a household full of guests the following weekend.
