    Here is a still shot of one
    nothing but a fly wheel with semi circular ribs the cherries are dropped in as the wheel rotates the ribs crush the cherries and force the pits out

    so it relies on "squeezing" the flesh of the cherry through a gap smaller than the diameter of the pip, thereby forcing the pip/stone to stay inside the machine until it progresses out the spout on the LHS of the photo...
