Grill with adjustable coal bed and flip top. Adding a gear to the coal bed raising mechanism might be reasonable; I don't know if the adjustment needs to be that fine.

looks pretty much like a custom setup for a particular street vendor-type operation. Slick. I'd most definitely put a positive stop on that coals tray though wouldn't want to pull it too far and accidentally dump them on the safety sandals :-P

I like yours. I was told to make a barrel grill. I got carried away and made it big, mobile, and adjustable. The frames that supports the barrels pivot and the barrels tilt to level with a little help.
