Hello,
I am a retired mobile crane mechanic who has a desire to work with wood to create and enjoy all the "days off" I have now. I have put together somewhat of a wood shop down in my basement and have already enjoyed several hours of "board therapy". I am hoping to not just continue what I have been doing but to learn enough to create lasting memories for my grandkids, maybe even get good enough that something I've made might even be passed down to their grands.

Sounds like some wooden toys may be next on your project list! mklotz built a cool "Halitosis Howitzer" that ignites breath spray to fire film canisters, here: The Halitosis Howitzer . That might be a good grandkid project.
