I tried to grow pumpkins a few times but the biggest they would ever get was a little larger than a basketball, My daughters always cut them from the vine on Halloween day, carved them into Jacko lanterns, the next day we would scrap the meat out of them and make several pumpkin pies or can it for making pies later

That's amazing. If you sat next to it for a quick rest it would be appreciably bigger when you left. Incredible.

If you fell asleep, you might very well wake up under it!!! lol

Pumpkins are big deal in a city close to us. Since 1996 one guy has entered the biggest pumpkin 13 times, sizes ranging from 629 pounds to the show record, 1,964 pounds in 2014.

There are also pumpkin boat races to be enjoyed.(boat races are not close to me)
