A Garmin GPS Suction Cup Stand Converted to Magnetic

For a long time I put up with the suction cup based stand for my Garmin GPS. It would lock onto my dashboard for a few hours but always seem to cut loose just as traffic became demanding. Today I finally decided to find a more reliable means of attaching the base to my dashboard. It locks on and releases using the same lever employed by the suction cup.

The magnetic support locks into a steel disk 0.4” thick. It is glued to my plastic dash.
