    A pin vise, even one as junky as the one I built, is a handy tool. Those new to metalworking may not realize its value. Experienced hobbyists will likely be able to add to my list of uses for this tool.

    Finishing rod or screw ends will be easier if you add a handled sleeve to the pin vise as here...
