With the popularity of Netflix and therefore the demise of video rentals our local supermarket decided to eliminate their DVD rental business and so discarded their DVD storage cabinets. I spotted them in front of the building and asked if I could take a few. Well I was able to fit 6 in my van and I felt like a kid in a candy store. They are heavy gauge steel. Each cabinet has 3 drawers with heavy duty full extension drawer slides and measure 36" wide, 21 inches deep and 24" tall. I built framework out of 2x4's and faced it with some 1x4's. Inside the drawers I made sliding trays which keep my tools in order so they are easy to find. That was one day I didn't mind going to the supermarket for my wife. The top of the cabinet is white aluminum left over from a siding job and on top of that I keep some of my parts drawers. The other 4 cabinets are in the metalwork shop and they are great for jigs and accessories.
