After making the guide a couple of concerns became apparent, firstly the possibility of misalignment due to only two 8 mm mounting bolts being susceptible to being knocked out if line in use. This was cured by two 4mm grub screws added bearing into indents in the grinder housing also helps with re-assembly if required. Secondly I thought that a circular saw style fence would be useful for cutting strips from a plate not wide enough to clamp down with a straight edge. A couple of mounting blocks were machined and welded to the base plate which accommodates a surplus fence from the scrap box.
