Reminds me of people in the South (my people!), lined up on the edge of a trailer park watching an approaching tornado..."Look 'ere, ain't never seen nuthin' like that before!"
An hour later, they're being interviewed on the local news "Well, I knowed it was gonna be bad when it sucked mama's teeth out her mouth..."
(By the way, that part about the teeth getting sucked out was not made up. That really happened to a woman from Mississippi about 20 years ago. A tornado passing by sucked her false teeth out of her mouth as she watched in amazement from her bedroom window.)
If we saw a tornado off in the distance my grandma would go to the front porch of the farm house and sit in her chair. She said if you can see it from the front porch it was just going to pass right on by, which they always had done and did except 1 rather large tornado spit out a fence post from about a mile away and it landed in our front yard about 75 feet from the house, See I told you it would just pass right on by, nice enough to give us a new cedar corner post though
Never try to tell me it can't be done
