The big lad would have been better off trying to jump onto the back as a human counterweight.

I have operated so many types of forklifts over the past 50 years and never had an incident other than losing a unit of half inch 12 foot sheetrock off a Pettibone long ago. The smallest one had a 8hp Briggs and Stratton and operator was part of the ballast. I did throw a couple of sbc heads on the back to help as I was maybe 100 pounds...

Why is there a forklift certification requirement?
    See Exhibit A.

Sidebar, I'd like to get certified to operate a forklift and big machines for digging holes, but I don't know where to start. This would be recreational, so cost is a factor.

This is the video I use to train employees. This is used and combined with hands on training and a test.
