Some of those logs appear to be bundled together. Also appears that this may have not been the first time this was done. Strange behavior in my book.

Also looks like cutting a band triggered the collapse.

Had to investigate a pedestrian operated forklift accident here, seems the operator had added 'home (in house) made' box section extensions to lift a bigger than normal box, box was heavy enough to lever the braked steering wheels off the ground and shoot the forklift backwards, thankfully into an internal corner not onto a straight wall or it'd been a death not a broken leg.
