I think this photo is showing the extension handle for the pneumatic flooring nailer.
I own a Bostitch brand of one of these. And purchased a long handle that lets you stand straight up. The same seller has a long handled hammer as well. I did my own install of both 2-1/4" wide and 5 inch wide in the house and wood working shop floor.
OK, what is going on with that floor. That is the crappiest fit of boards, they must have staged them as loose boards, as one of the things the nailer does is push them tight together as the nail is going in.
I also own the manual Bostitch nailer. My house construction I used Advantech brand sub floor. It is an OSB that is made with very hard adhesive. I could not sink a flooring spike into that with the manual nailer no mater how hard I hit it. The pneumatic nailer had zero issue sinking them to depth.
Also another tool is a flooring jack to tighten boards that are warped or near the wall where it's difficult to get them together tight, and using a finishing nailer to complete the courses as the nailer has limits how close you can get to the wall.
