Honeycomb aluminum cored panels are at least 40 years old. Probably more like 60 plus years old. I knew about them as a teenager and I'm in my early 50's. You notice that he is putting pressure along the piece he is wiggling? That's because if he doesn't it will all separate and you will see that it is the same as the thin stuff on the table. The core is pretty much useless without the skin glued to the top and bottom. When it is laminated it is a very strong, very light way to make a high strength panel.
