There was a huge forest fire here about 2008, not far from my house and on both sides of a major highway. They dumped foam fire retardant all over the place. NOTHING grew there for a good 10 years, and only now there's a tiny little bit of green vegetation starting.

Normally when there's a fire the soil is supercharged. 6 months later and the vegetation is so thick you can't walk through it. Not so after foam. Maybe they cracked open the barrels of agent orange by accident.

Bombardier CL-415, also built as CL-515 by Viking Aircraft.. I have no idea where it is being operated, these were sold to a few other countries and I know Italy and Greece own some.

    Bombardier; another fine Canadian company.
Brave pilot yes, wonder what his background is.
And is there not something special about performance planes compared to commercial passenger aircraft that can only fly, IYKWIM.

Yes, it certainly is a performance aircraft. I think California was using 3 of them this year.

They've been using them here in Cal. for a while. Here are some pictures I took in 2009 while standing on our patio as they doused a canyon fire a few streets over.
