I recently dropped my favorite Swiss Army knife while fumbling about in the flower beds. It took me a while to find it since it blended in well with the leaves and litter on the ground. This led me to remember something I had read a long time ago...
If you're stranded/lost in the woods/jungle and you're lucky enough to have essential tools like a knife, compass, flashlight, etc. with you, tie a bright strip of cloth to each one so that if you drop it, it will be easy to locate it. Not doing this might cost you your life.
A quick search on Amazon showed that they now sell paracord in neon yellow/green color...
