Hi All
This is a fabricated shaft for a ring roller I am making.
This method meant I could use 12mm stock diameter material for the smaller diameter of the shaft which fits the bearings rather than machining from solid stock. The larger end was left oversize on all diameters and once screwed and Loctite together was machined true to the smaller diameter. This method saves a lot of time and material removal.
Two parts ready to be loctited together
Loctite retainer 601
Mole grips to ensure the two components are locked tightly together
Turning with a left hand lathe tool
Finished turned shaft
Shafted test fitted to housing
Fitted to ring roller frame assembly
