Extra Long Unimat SL QCTP Handle

I changed the short and stubby Quick Change Tool Post (QCTP) handle for a longer knurled handle. This has made a big difference when clamping and releasing the tool holders in the QCTP. The stainless steel 303 2.5" long knurled handle was a "left-over" drop from another tool making job and only required adding a 1/4-28 thread to fit into the old QCTP on the Unimat SL 1000 3" swing lathe.

This is the QCTP with a short 1.5" handle for the QCTP and not very easy to use.

    This is the new handle.

This is a great improvement that took less than 10 minutes.

    Thank you for looking,

    Paul Jones

I have 2 QCTP one aluminium the other steel and both I have broken the handle. I might have some stainless rod around, might try that.
