Most people have little enough control over a standard-length hack saw, but those who do would probably never consider needing one that is 3 times as long.
Maybe there could be times when a super long hacksaw could be handy, I just can't think of one right now

I have a long hacksaw. I got it from my grandfather. He was a butcher, the saw is actually an old meat saw. It typically hangs on a wall with some other antique tools I have from my father and grandfather. As you can see the frame is one piece, steel, and very substantial in the center where it needs to be stiff. I use broken blades from my porta-band so I have an selection of tooth configurations as required.

I have pressed it into service a couple of times when a regular hacksaw and the porta-band were not adequate, One situation was cutting a piece of I-beam. In this case I used the standard hacksaw to cut the flanges as deep as possible. Then used meat saw to cut the web. The slots cut in the flanges served to keep the blade from twisting.

Maybe it is cool to have the world record for hacksaw, but I think practical is more important.

My first thoughts mirror those made; what gain is there in cut width, without proportional depth of cut increase?

The plumbers trade [possibly others as well] used to have deep-cut hack saw frames on 12" blades, I'd say they were up to about 9", and horizontal beam was noticeably arched.
This one is 7". Had it a long time, awaiting a nice slab of rock maple or equal wood to complete it. Think it deserves an example of contoured grip/ thumbrest patterns, complementing the 'Silver Steel' stamping.
When P. Davies asked about handsaw screws and nuts, the itch for this frame started again.
