Extending the Life of a Low Pressure, High Volume Air Pump

I own a Texsport hand pump. It is second hand and worn out. As I push down on the handle, no air flows until I am about 3/4 of the way through the stroke. That is a lot of work for not a lot of air.

Granted, this pump is both low cost and cheaply made. But it is my pump and I'm not going to just toss it. For essentially zero cost, I have given the pump new life. It again pushes air all the way from the top to the bottom of the stroke.
