    That is not a shear - that is a saw. The head is also known as a harvesting head. The harvesting head combines a grip and a swing saw. The head is mounted to a wheeled or tracked excavator.

    The harvesting head is also known locally as a feller or a feller buncher - kind of like the person who falls trees. The feller can also be combined with other features, including debarking, limbing, etc. This harvesting head is a chain saw. Some other feller bunchers use a circular blade also known as a hot saw.
