Uhhh, it went from a utilitarian object to a stupid looking utilitarian object and at what cost? If they think the tower is out of place in the middle of town, what makes them think a giant, sparse, obviously artificial pine fits?

The steeplejack appears to be wearing some form of camouflage, too. Except for the obvious yellow hat. I can't think of any reason to do that on a construction site.
