    Engine hoist + winch =

I usually work by myself. So when I needed to change my transmission I needed a way to lift and hold it. I could crawl in and out of my truck to pump and release the hoist, that was not happening, I had a winch laying around the shop and I got an idea. I found a piece of angle iron that would fit into the square tube on my hoist and mounted my winch to it. Raising and lowering the transmission was as simple as pushing a button.Engine hoist + winch =-dcp_4350.jpgEngine hoist + winch =-dcp_4351.jpgEngine hoist + winch =-dcp_4352.jpgEngine hoist + winch =-dcp_4353.jpgEngine hoist + winch =-dcp_4355.jpg

    Greetings from Canada

Those cheap winches are amazingly useful. I use one to lift a homemade snow plow behind my Suzuki Vitara.
A winch on a stick, I like it!.

Thanks Bob. I like it myself I wish I would have thought of it sooner. It beats struggling with a transmission over your head. It saves on headaches in more ways that one.
