Doug, tremendous tool there. Looking at the stylus: have you got any special notes on this ie is it hardened and polished? I have trouble with mine getting the flutes to slide smoothly over the stylus....

yes the stylus is made from O-1 steel that has been hardened and polished, try adjusting the stylus just inside the flute, to close to the edge of the flute and you will feel the burrs from the cutting edge on the stylus, I always use a small round stone to deburr the end mill first

Excellent build Rosbotics. I love the quality.
I have just built an air flotation spindle for my shop made T/C grinder and am now moving on to the matter of the stylus / finger.
It is hard to see the detail of your stylus holder, does it have two height positions so that you can set it to be easily switchable from primary to secondary relief?
If you have a drawing of the fixture, it would be great to see it.
    Kind Regards
    David

    Thank you so much Doug,
That will give me a head start on my own design for a suitable stylus on my machine. If my work was as accurate and beautiful as yours appears to be, then I probably would not have needed to "float" the tool holder on (in) a bed of air. However I was pleased to find that it worked a treat, although the boring of the block (cast iron) to carry the spindle tested my engineering skills to the full.
I am very grateful for your help.. Keep up your excellent work.
    Kind Regards
    David
