Hurricane Fiona hit us hard. I think about 750,000 people lost power in a province with a population of 1 million. So the power company was busy. A while after the power came back on, a buddy of mine noticed his lights were flickering so he looked outside at the power lines. One of the poles was visibly arcing. He called the power company. Their question was something along the lines of "well is it on fire?" Guess they had more important issues to deal with.

I've never seen fireballs travel the line before, even during our Iowa Ice storms. I've seen the point where two highlines cross at 90 degrees one go slack into the other one. That created a giant arc and set the grass on fire around my squad car. Molten aluminum is not nice stuff.
