As the desire to work more accurate becomes close on an obsession, the only point of reference I have is the edge, so for that reason I need some way of accurately finding the edge. Looked at making a "Wabler", but with my current skill sets that is not going to happen

Still open question, anybody knows what it happening in that "Edge Finder" in the video?

There are a lot of simple ways to find the edge of a part, put a dowel in the machine and bring it to the edge or to a feeler gauge and you now know how much to index.
Stick a small piece of oiled cigarette paper to the edge and when the rotating tool flicks it away you are .001 or .0025mm from the edge, this is useful when using a drill or end mill. There are many other methods that time seems to have forgotten but I will post making a Wobbler from a pin chuck.

The "Paper Flicker" sounds about the easiest and fastest. Saves time not having to change from the "Edge finder" to the real cutter.

A quick google search "make an edge finder" explains all, including how to make it.....
