Thank you for the link, Carlos. I found there everything I needed! Grey iron is my far dream. I am old-school mechanical engineer and all that modern aluminum materials don't satisfy me. Cast iron is a cast iron. And if I ever were able to smelt ductile iron I would be king of the day!

Thats great ViktorP good luck with your projects. I am sure Lionel's work has helped a lot of home casters get to melt iron. For a person with a worth while need for iron castings a small cupola is the way to go. A lot of people have played with that idea with differing results. I have juggled a few ideas around in my head but have never had the chance to try them out.
